ARTOFLOOR

About ArtoFloor

ArtoFlooris an interactive museum of art history you can walk through in your browser. Start at a timeline of the great periods — from the Byzantine and Gothic eras through the Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionism, and into the modern movements — drill into a period to meet the artists who defined it, then step into each artist’s own first-person 3D gallery hung with their paintings.

Where the content comes from

Every artist biography, painting image, date, and story on ArtoFloor is drawn from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, used under public-domain and Creative Commons licenses. Each work links back to its source on Wikimedia Commons.

Nothing on ArtoFloor is generated by AI.If a fact or an image isn’t on Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, it doesn’t appear here. Because 20th- and 21st-century works largely remain under copyright, the collection is strongest for periods whose art is in the public domain.

A note on accuracy

ArtoFloor reflects what its sources say at the time of indexing. If you spot an error, a misattributed work, or an image you believe should be removed, please get in touchand we’ll correct it.
